DETROIT – In the 60 minutes of regulation, Green Bay never held the lead; it didn’t matter as the Aaron Rodgers hit Richard Rodgers on an untimed down to give the Packers a 27-23 win over the Detroit Lions on Thursday night.
Trailing 23-21, Green Bay got the ball back at their own 21-yard line with :25 remaining. On a desperation lateral play two downs later, Devin Taylor was flagged for grabbing Aaron Rodgers’ facemask, giving the Packers an untimed down from the 39-yard line.
On the ensuing play, Rodgers rolled to his right and heaved the ball downfield, where Richard Rodgers leaped and hauled in the winning score. With the win, Green Bay improved to 8-4 on the year, while Detroit dropped to 4-8.
