DENVER – The rematch of Super Bowl 50 ended up with the same result – but only just barely – as the Denver Broncos came from behind to beat the Carolina Panthers 21-20 on Thursday night as the NFL opened the 2016 season.
Carolina led by as many as 10 points, but trailed after a pair of C.J. Anderson touchdowns in the second half. Carolina got within a point, but Graham Gano’s 50-yard field goal attempt sailed wide in the final seconds and the Broncos held on.
Kevin Harlan and Kurt Warner called the action on Westwood One.
