DAYTON, OH – In a back-and-forth “First Four” affair–which included eight ties and three lead changes–UC Davis held off a pesky NC Central squad 67-63 in Dayton.
The sixteenth-seeded Aggies were led by Junior forward Chima Moneke’s 18 points and 12 rebounds. Senior Brynton Lemar chipped in 15 points off of 3-of-6 shooter from beyond the arc.
Senior Dajuan Graf paced the Eagles with 15 points, but the MEAC Champions were ultimately undone by a cold night shooting a collective 5-of-26 from the perimerter.
The Big West Tournament champions are now bound for Tulsa, where they will take on top-seeded Kansas in the First Round of the Midwest Region on Friday.
Ted Emrich and Austin Croshere called the action on Westwood One Sports.
