INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Second-seeded Kentucky opened up a double-digit lead late in the first half, then did just enough to keep a pesky, upstart Northern Kentucky squad at bay in 79-70 First Round victory.

Edrice Adebayo brought the “bam,” hauling down 18 boards to go along with his 15 points, while fellow freshman De’Aaron Fox poured in 19 of his own to lead the Wildcats.

Lavone Holland II and Carson Williams paced the Norse pursuit with 22 and 21 points, respectively.

Chris Carrino and Jim Jackson called the action on Westwood One Sports.
