First Round Highlights: Wichita State edges past Dayton 64-58

03/17/2017

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Many felt the Shockers were under-seeded–coming into the tournament with 30 wins on the back of a 15-game win streak–and they showed it, as tenth-seeded Wichita State glided past an experienced Dayton team 64-58 to land a spot in the Second Round.

Freshman guard Landry Shamet paced Greg Marshall’s team with 13 points

Flyers’ senior Scoochie Smith shot 9-of-11 from the field to lead all scorers with 25 points in final collegiate outing.

Chris Carrino and Jim Jackson called the action on Westwood One Sports.
