Interview: Maryland’s Mark Turgeon on reliability of Melo Trimble, contribution of freshman class


ORLANDO, FL – Maryland has had a roller-coaster season, pulling out nail-biters in the early going, while also weathering a string of injuries and tough losses late in the season.

Entering the NCAA Tournament, Terps’ coach Mark Turgeon hopes the leadership of point guard Melo Trimble and a rotating supporting cast of capable scorers can handle the many challenges that eleventh-seeded Xavier and its toughness and physicality present.

Tom McCarthy caught up with Mark Turgeon ahead of Thursday’s First Round matchup with the Musketeers in Orlando.
