SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Top-seeded Gonzaga raced out to an early double-digit lead, but then had to hold on for dear life down the stretch to pull out a 79-73 victory over eighth-seeded Northwestern.
With Przemek Karnowski sitting for much of the second half, freshman Zach Collins stepped up inside the paint to provide 14 points and 4 blocks. Nigel Williams-Goss led the Bulldogs with 20 points.
Bryant McIntosh and Vic Law paced the Wildcats with 20 and 18 points, respectively.
