KANSAS CITY, MO – It started out as a tight contest, …until three-and-a-half minutes into the second half, when Kansas went on a blistering 31-9 run to blow out fourth-seeded Purdue 98-66 and advance to their second Elite Eight in as many years.
Guards Frank Mason III and Devonte’ Graham each poured in 26 points, while freshman phenom Josh Jackson added 15 points to go along with his 12 boards to lead the top-seeded Jayhawks.
Sophomore forward Caleb Swanigan carried the Boilermakers with 18 points in the losing effort.
