CWS Highlights: Vanderbilt jumps out early in 8-2 win

06/28/2021

OMAHA, NE – A seven-run first inning was more than enough to give Vanderbilt the upper hand in the championship series at the 2021 Men’s College World Series.

The Commodores jumped out big early and strong pitching from Jack Leiter and Nick Maldonado handled the rest in an 8-2 win over Mississippi State.

The 2019 champs are now just a win away from repeating as CWS champions.

Kevin Kugler and Scott Graham called the action.
