CWS Update: Texas downs Virginia; stays alive

06/25/2021

OMAHA, NE – The first weather delay of the 2021 Men’s College World Series lasted more than three-and-a-half hours, and meant a late, late finish at TD Ameritrade Park. But it didn’t phase the Texas Longhorns, whose 6-2 win over Virginia late into the night kept them alive.

Texas took the lead with a run in the eighth, then tacked on three insurance runs in the 9th. The Longhorns next face Mississippi State, needing a win Friday night and another on Saturday to make the best-of-three championship series.
