CWS Update: Vanderbilt wins in wild walk-off

OMAHA, NE – The defending champions would not go quietly, as Vanderbilt rallied for two runs in the bottom of the 9th to defeat Stanford 6-5 and stave off elimination on Wednesday night at the College World Series.

The Commodores trailed the Cardinal 4-0 early and 5-4 with two outs and nobody on base in the final inning. But a walk, followed by back-to-back singles tied the game. A wild pitch to the next batter allowed the winning run to score from third.

Vanderbilt will now face NC State on Friday, needing to win and then win again Saturday to reach the best-of-three final.
