South Carolina overcame a midgame charge from Louisville to take down the Cardinals 72-59 and advanced to the national championship. They’ll face off against women’s NCAA basketball powerhouse Connecticut, after the Huskies overcame a late charge by Stanford to hold on and win 63-58 in the second game of the night.
The Gamecocks started hot and ran out to an early lead but Louisville came back with a 10-0 run of their own to take the lead in the second quarter. But the #1 team in the nation came out of the halftime break hot and never looked back on their way to the semifinal win.
The first semifinal looked over early as @GamecockWBB ran out an 11-2 lead, but a 10-0 run capped by these two Emily Engstler buckets brought @UofLWBB right back in it.
