SANTA CLARA, CA – The San Francisco 49ers relied on its stout defense, limiting the Los Angeles Chargers to just 238 yards of total offense, as Kyle Shanahan’s team came back in the Second Half to claim a 22-16 victory on Sunday night.
Despite missing his first extra point of the season, Robbie Gould drilled all three of his field goals, while Jimmy Garoppolo and Christian McCaffrey each contributed short touchdown runs, providing San Francisco with all of the offense it would need.
Justin Herbert, playing through some pain, passed for 196 yards and a touchdown for Los Angeles, before throwing an interception to Talanoa Hufanga in the final minute.
Ryan Radtke and Brady Quinn called the action on Westwood One.
