UConn dominates en route to first National Championship since 2016

The Connecticut Huskies become the first DI basketball program to win 12 National Championships, dominating South Carolina 82-59 in Paige Bueckers’ final collegiate game.

UConn superstar and likely No. 1 overall pick Paige Bueckers joined Westwood One’s Ros Gold-Onwude after the game.

Hall of Fame coach Geno Auriemma was emotional after leading UConn to its 12th title, speaking with Gold-Onwude.

Husky Senior Azzi Fudd was named the Most Valuable Player of the Women’s Final Four, she spoke with Gold-Onwude after her 24-point game.

Gold-Onwude caught up with star UConn Freshman Sarah Strong, who also scored 24 points in the title game.

The first quarter saw five lead changes, but UConn took control early in the second period and never looked back.
