LAS VEGAS – Nick Johnson scored 16 points and Arizona’s suffocating defense did the rest as the Wildcats moved on to the Pac-12 title game with a 63-43 win over Colorado on Friday night.
Arizona held the Buffaloes to 29% shooting and the Wildcats also had seven steals and five blocked shots.
They’ll next face UCLA in a rematch of a heated semifinal at the tournament last year, which the Bruins won 66-64.
Wayne Larrivee and Bill Frieder called the action on WestwoodOne Sports.
(Nick Johnson takes a feed on the alley-oop and it’s 16-13 early)
(Gabe York hits at the buzzer to give the Wildcats a 27-24 lead at the half)
(Johnson hits a three to start a big Arizona run)
(Johnson slams another one home for a 36-29 lead)
(Rondae Hollis-Jefferson dunks one home)
(T.J. McConnell hits from deep and Arizona has it all but wrapped up)
