JACKSONVILLE, FL – North Carolina survived a huge scare, as the 4th-seeded Tar Heels held off 13th-seeded Harvard’s bid for another NCAA Tournament upset with a 67-65 victory.
Already with 26 points, the Crimson’s star senior, Wesley Saunders, had a shot for the win from 24-feet in the closing seconds, but it rattled off of the glass and rim, ending the Ivy League squad’s hopes.
Forwards Justin Jackson and Kennedy Meeks led the Tar Heels with fourteen and ten points, respectively.
Roy Williams’s team awaits the winner of the Arkansas-Wofford contest.
Tom McCarthy and Donny Marshall called the action on Westwood One Sports.
