UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA – American Dustin Johnson and Sweden’s Henrik Stenson are the leaders after the opening day of play at the 2015 U.S. Open.
Johnson and Stenson each shot opening-round 65s to sit at five under par. Patrick Reed is one shot back at four-under, with a trio of fellow Americans – Matt Kuchar, Ben Martin and Brian Campbell – an additional shot back.
Masters champion Jordan Spieth shot a two-under 68, while Phil Mickelson shot 69. Tiger Woods had a terrible time at Chambers Bay, carding an 80. He sits ten shots over par after the opening 18 holes. It is Woods’ worst-scoring round ever at a U.S. Open.
