DAYTON, Ohio – Zak Irvin’s 3-pointer with 53 seconds to play catapulted Michigan to a 67-62 decision over Tulsa in NCAA First Four action in Dayton.
Reminiscent of a last-second 3-pointer to beat Indiana last week in the Big Ten Tournament, Irvin staked the Wolverines to a 62-60 lead in the final minute against Tulsa. Pat Birt’s 3-point attempt for the Golden Hurricanes was off the mark, enabling the Wolverines to close the contest with free throws in the final seconds.
Craig Way and Kevin Grevey called the action on Westwood One Sports.
