ALBUQUERQUE, NM – 11-seed Colorado withstood a furious 2nd-half rally from 6-seed UNLV, outlasting the Rebels 68-64 in their NCAA Tournament South Regional game.
Colorado led 53-33 with 13.08 remaining in regulation before a 22-2 run from UNLV brought the Rebels within 57-55 with 4.24 to go. The win was the Buffaloes’ first NCAA Tournament victory in 15 years.
Askia Booker scored 16 points off the bench to lead Colorado (24-11), who will face 3-seed Baylor in a 3rd round game on Saturday.
UNLV (26-9) was paced by Anthony Marshall, who scored 15 in the season-ending loss.
