SAN JOSE, CA – Perhaps there will come a day when a 12-seed defeating a 5-seed in the NCAA Tournament will be considered the norm.
12-seeds went 2-0 on Thursday, after California slipped past UNLV 64-61 in San Jose. The victorious Bears put four players in double-figures, led by a 19-point, 8-rebound effort from Allen Crabbe. Bryce Dejean-Jones led the Runnin’ Rebels with 15 points, who endured another second-round exit for the second consecutive year.
Ted Robinson and Bill Frieder called the action on Westwood One Sports.
