DALLAS – Buddy Hield scored 18 points to lead Oklahoma to an 82-73 victory over Alabama on Friday in the season-opener for both team.
The Sooners trailed big early as the Crimson Tide built a 26-10 lead midway through the first half, but a strong run just before the break cut their halftime deficit to just a single point at 41-40.
Ryan Spangler added 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Sooners. New Alabama guard Algie Key, a junior college transfer, scored 20 points in his debut to lead the Tide.
Brad Sham and Bill Frieder called the action on WestwoodOne Sports.
