ATLANTA – Top-ranked Florida outlasted Kentucky 61-60 to capture the SEC title on Sunday at the Georgia Dome. In the process, the Gators recorded their 26th consecutive victory and all but locked up the #1 overall seed in this year’s NCAA Tournament.
Patric Young and Michael Frazier led the way for Florida with 14 points apiece. Kentucky was led by Aaron Harrison, who had 16 points. The Wildcats had a chance to win the game late but were unable to get a shot off in the final seconds.
