Congratulations to Duke on a very hard-fought win over an emotionally spent Wisconsin team in the final. I am not going to lie…the fact that Duke cruised to a win over Michigan State while Wisconsin emptied its tank against a team trying to make history took its toll. You could see late that the Badgers were running out of steam. When the shots stopped falling and the whistles went against them, it was hard for them to maintain offensive efficiency. It was an amazing run for Bo Ryan’s squad, who by the way I think might coach for at least another decade. His fire and demeanor are perfect for Wisconsin.
Perfection Rejection
I had Kentucky going 40-0, and if it wasn’t for some bizarre end-of-game possessions, I think it would have happened. The shot-clock issues and not getting good looks at the hoop were very unlike Coach Calipari. At some point, you just have to give the other team credit. Wisconsin played the perfect game. Kentucky was amazing this year, because when you think of if, they took everyone’s best shot. They were two games from doing something that not many people thought was possible.
On Coach K
Some are now saying Coach K is the greatest college basketball coach in history. Why stop there? Is he not the greatest coach in history? You toss in the work he did with USA Basketball and how he has done it over so many years and it is amazing. We are watching one of the greatest coaches in history, in any sport, college or pro. I think there is more to come…
