Midwest Regional Final: Syracuse surges late, knocks off top-seeded Virginia

CHICAGO – Once down by 16, 10th-seeded Syracuse used a 25-4 second half run to knock off top-seeded Virginia 68-62 in the Midwest Regional Final on Sunday evening. The Orange become the fourth double-digit seed ever to reach the Final Four, the first ever 10-seed to achieve the feat.

Malachi Richardson led the comeback for Syracuse scoring 23 points, 21 of them in the second half.

Gary Cohen and Jim Jackson called the action on Westwood One Sports.
