Second Round Highlights: Swanigan engines Purdue past Iowa State 80-76

03/19/2017

MILWAUKEE, WI – Fourth-seeded Purdue went ten rounds with fifth-seeded Iowa State in a slug-fest before holding on to secure an 80-76 win and a spot in the Sweet Sixteen.

Sophomore forward Caleb Swanigan was an absolute beast for the Boilermakers, scoring 20 points to go along with 7 assists and 12 rebounds–the most critical one coming off a missed Purdue free throw with 11 seconds left while clinging to a two-point lead.

Deon Burton scored a game-high 25 points in his last game in a Cyclone uniform.

Brandon Gaudin and Kelly Tripucka called the action on Westwood One Sports.
