DALLAS, TX – Mississippi State may have won the game of the tournament when they knocked off Connecticut in overtime in the semifinals, but even a win like that doesn’t guarantee the fairy tale ending. The Bulldogs found that out the hard way as South Carolina led them practically wire to wire and won their first national championship 67-55.
A’ja Wilson dominated with 23 points for the Gamecocks, while semifinal hero Morgan William was largely kept in check, scoring only 8 for the Bulldogs.
John Sadak and Debbie Antonelli called the action on Westwood One Sports.
