Trailing by as many as nine in the second half, Notre Dame came back to beat Stanford, 84-68, in the Chicago Regional Final to advance to the 2019 Women’s Final Four. Baylor blew out Iowa in Monday’s other Elite 8 matchup as Friday’s National Semifinals are set. Baylor will take on Oregon to kickoff the night, while Notre Dame will go head-to-head with UConn in the second game in Tampa Bay.
After falling behind 33-26 at halftime, Notre Dame outscored Stanford 58-35 in second half action to go on to win by 16 in Chicago. Jackie Young led all scorers with 25 points, while Arike Ogunbowale notched 21 points in the win.
Led by 22 points from Lauren Cox, Baylor raced past Iowa, 85-53, in Greensboro to advance to its first Final Four since 2012.
