UCLA continues magical run, Elite Eight field set

Sweet 16 Sunday featured a pair of #1 seeds comfortably advancing to the Elite 8, while 11th seeded UCLA continued its magical March with its fourth win of the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

In a game that Alabama’s Alex Reese forced overtime with a three-pointer to beat the second half buzzer, UCLA dominated the extra period and is headed to the Elite 8 for the first time since 2008.

In Sunday’s nightcap, USC controlled an all Pac-12 affair with a dominant 82-68 win over Oregon, punctuated by an Evan Mobley thunderous slam dunk in the final minutes.

Top overall seed Gonzaga rolled in the day’s opening game, leading by as many as 27 en route to an 83-65 win over Creighton. The Bulldogs are into the Elite 8 for the fourth time in the last six NCAA tournaments.

After jumping out to a 13-point first half lead, #1 seed Michigan never looked back in a 76-58 win over Florida State at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
