After a canceled tournament in 2020 and a bubbled tournament held in Indianapolis in 2021, March Madness officially returned in full with two First Four games in Dayton, Ohio on Tuesday night. In the opener, 16th-seeded Texas Southern defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 76-67 to earn the right to face #1 Midwestern seed Kansas in Fort Worth on Thursday. In the second game, 12th-seeded Indiana dispatched Wyoming 66-58 and will face #5 St. Mary’s in the East bracket on Thursday. Lance Medow and Stephen Bardo had the call live on Westwood One.
Bryson Etienne scored 21 points and went 9 for 9 from the charity stripe to help his Tigers close out a victory against the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders. Trevian Tennyson led A&M with 18 points off the bench in the loss. With the win, Texas Southern advances to face the top seed in the Midwest region, Kansas, on Thursday in Fort Worth.

In the late game, 12th-seeded Indiana’s stifling defense caused 18 Wyoming turnovers on their way to an 66-58 win and the right to face #5 Saint Mary’s on Thursday. Trayce Jackson-Davis led all scorers with 29 points for the Hoosiers.
Great call by @stephenbardo & @LanceMedow as @IndianaMBB's Trayce Jackson-Davis extends Indiana's lead to 54-47 with a late alley-oop.
