OMAHA, NE – LSU joined Florida in the best-of-three championship series at the Men’s College World Series on Thursday night courtesy of an extra-inning walk-off home run by Tommy White.
White’s blast gave LSU a 2-0 win over Wake Forest in what had been a pitcher’s duel up to that point.
White’s heroics came about 30 hours after Florida had booked its place in the final in nearly as dramatic of an ending. Leading 3-2 in the bottom of the ninth, the Gators were one strike for the final when TCU’s Brayden Taylor sent a shot to the wall that was snared by Michael Robertson for the final out.
