OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – After two games of dominance from Texas Tech pitcher Nijaree Canady, the Texas Longhorns lit up the nation’s best pitcher en route to a dominant 10-4 win in Game 3 of the Women’s College World Series.
Texas captures its first-ever Softball National Championship.
Ryan Radtke & Erin Miller called the action on Westwood One.
The Longhorns quickly knocked Canady out of the game with a 5-run first inning, courtesy Leighann Goode’s 3-run home run.
A couple of innings later, the Longhorns found some more power, this time a Grand Slam from senior Mia Scott.
After the win, Texas star pitcher Teagen Kavan, the WCWS Most Outstanding Player, spoke with Radtke and Miller.
After scoring 2 of the Longhorns’ 10 runs and driving in a third, Texas catcher Reese Atwood joined.
Next, star centerfielder Kayden Henry joined after a 3-hit day.
