OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – With the season on the line, Texas Tech found a way to score runs any way they could and held on for a 4-3 win over Texas on Thursday night to force a decisive third game in the best-of-three finals at the Women’s College World Series.
The Red Raiders got on the board first via a hit-by-pitch.
Then added another run without the benefit of a base hit.
A Mia Scott home run got the Longhorns on the board in the 5th, before Tech scored another pair on a sac fly and a single in the 6th.
A 4-1 lead almost wasn’t enough, however.
A sac fly made it 4-3 before NiJaree Canady shut the door.
We’ll have Game 3 for you on Friday night beginning at 7:45 PM Eastern.
