MYRTLE BEACH, SC – John Caleb Sanders scored 27 points as Liberty downed Charleston Southern 87-76 in the Big South Championship game to earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Davon Marshall also came up huge for the Flames, knocking down six of seven from three-point range.
At 15-20, Liberty becomes the first 20-loss team to make the field since Coppin State in 2008. It is the Flames’ first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2004.
