SAN DIEGO – Virginia Commonwealth opens play in its fourth straight NCAA Tournament on Friday when the Rams battle the Lumberjacks from Stephen F. Austin, at Viejas Arena.
VCU is one of three NCAA clubs with at least 26 wins in each of the past five seasons and coach Shaka Smart hopes his “Havoc” defense can help the Rams to a Round of 64 victory for the third straight season.
Dave Sims caught up with Smart ahead of the game.
