MILWAUKEE, WI – A hard-fought 85-77 Wisconsin victory over Oregon got ugly late, as tempers flared and push-came-to shove for the frustrated Ducks guard Jason Calliste, who was assessed a flagrant foul in the game’s final seconds.
In the end, Oregon couldn’t find the mark from three, and Sam Dekker and Traevon Jackson hit just enough free throws to seal the deal for the Badgers.
All five Wisconsin starters scored in double figures, with forward Frank Kaminsky leading the way with 19 points.
For Oregon, it was the Joseph Young show all night, as the junior guard poured in 29 points on 10-of-19 shooting; however, his step-back attempt from three–to tie the score with 15 seconds left–fell just short.
Wayne Larrivee and Kelly Tripucka called the action on WestwoodOne Sports.
