SYRACUSE, NY – For nearly 14 minutes at the outset of Monday night’s game at the Carrier Dome, #2 Virginia couldn’t buy a bucket. For the next 26 minutes, they could barely do wrong.
The Cavaliers scored just 2 points in the game’s first 13:55, but rallied back and even led at halftime as they defeated Syracuse 59-47 to clinch a second consecutive ACC regular season title.
Anthony Gill led the way with 17 points and nine rebounds. Mike Tobey, London Perrantes and Malcolm Brogdan each added 10 points.
