LOUISVILLE, KY – Brushing aside doubters and second-guessers, the 11th-seeded UCLA Bruins kept their 2015 NCAA Tournament campaign rolling along with a decisive 92-75 second-round win over 14th-seeded UAB.
The Bruins did it Saturday with hot shooting–going a combined 60% from the field and 56% percent from behind-the-arc–as well as dominance on the glass, out-rebounding the Blazers 41-to-26.
All five UCLA starters scored in double-figures, led by junior forward Tony Parker–who had a career high 28 points–and coach’s son, Bryce Alford, who poured in 22 points while shooting 3-for-5 from long range.
Junior guard Robert Brown carried the Blazers with 25 points, marked by 4-of-8 perimeter shooting.
John Sadak and Bill Frieder called the action on Westwood One Sports.
