Fred HoibergSAN ANTONIO – Facing an NCAA third-round opponent like blueblood North Carolina is ordinarily daunting enough. Sunday, No. 3-seed Iowa State will face the No. 6-seed Tar Heels without the services of leading scorer Georges Niang who broke his foot in the second half of Friday’s win over North Carolina Central.

Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg spoke with WestwoodOne’s Will Perdue prior to Sunday’s game.
