It was, as Westwood One play-by-play announcer Dave Sims called it, “one of the unlikeliest upsets in the history of college basketball” as the Patriots of George Mason rolled all the way to the Final Four in 2006 – beating Michigan State, North Carolina, Wichita State and top-ranked Connecticut along the way.
The magical run of George Mason would end in the national semifinals, but regardless, it will always be remember as another Great Moment in Tournament History.
