JACKSONVILLE, FL – Stop us if you’ve heard this before: the unheralded Harvard Crimson are headed to the NCAA Tournament with hopes of upsetting a highly ranked opponent.
Yes, that was the case two years ago, when the Ivy League champs downed New Mexico. Then 12 months later, there they were again, taking care of business against Cincinnati.
After surviving a one-game playoff with Yale for the Ivy’s automatic bid, the Crimson are back – and this time they’ll take on their most storied opponent yet: the fourth-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels.
Donny Marshall caught up with head coach Tommy Amaker, who played and coached at Duke for the better part of two decades, ahead of the game with a team he knows quite well.
