LOUIS, MO – Tenth-seeded Syracuse extended the hot run of Atlantic Coast Conference schools to 12-1 in the first week of the NCAA Tournament, as the Orange pulled away in the second half to beat fifteenth-seeded Middle Tennessee State 75-50 and punched their ticket to the Sweet 16 for the first time since the 2013 Final Four team.
Michael Gbinije carried Jim Boeheim’s squad with 23 points, while Trevor Cooney complemented by pouring in 4-of-7 from behind the arc.
Darnell Harris paced the Blue Raiders with 11 points in the losing effort.
