OKLAHOMA CITY – Paige Parker’s 27th consecutive victory was her biggest of the year as the Oklahoma Sooners defeated the Auburn Tigers 2-1 on Wednesday night to capture the program’s second softball championship in four years.
Parker was nearly untouchable, allowing just five hits and striking out five.
On a night without much offense, Oklahoma got the only two runs it needed in the first on an error and an RBI single by Fale Aviu. Auburn’s only run of the game came on a homer by Jade Rhodes.
Makayla Martin nearly matched Parker for the Tigers, allowing just the two runs – both of which were unearned – in six strong innings of work.
Kevin Kugler and Leah Amico called the action on Westwood One Sports.
