Derek Rackley returns in 2014 for a second year as an analyst for NCAA Football broadcasts on Westwood One Sports. He will also act as a sideline reporter for select NFL broadcasts.
An eight-year NFL veteran as a tight end and long snapper, Rackley spent the first six years of his career with the Atlanta Falcons (2000-2005) before playing for the Seattle Seahawks in his final two seasons (2006-2007).
Rackley was born and raised near Minneapolis and was the captain of both his football and basketball team in high school. He played four years in college at the University of Minnesota, beginning his career as a quarterback before switching to tight end and becoming the team’s long snapper.
Since retiring from the NFL, Rackley has worked for Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS) and the Big Ten Network as a studio host/analyst and color commentator for football games. He currently works with 120 Sports as a football analyst.
Rackley also spends time developing his R.A.C.K. Foundation, where he funds college scholarships in Minnesota and also supports medically fragile children and their families in Georgia as a board member for the Fragile Kids Foundation.
