HOUSTON – Oklahoma St. ran all over Mississippi St. in the Texas Kickoff Classic, rushing for 286 yards in a 21-3 season-opening victory.
The Cowboys were led by quarterback J.W. Walsh, who gained 125 yards on 13 carries with a touchdown and also completed 18 of 27 passes for 135 yards. Jeremy Smith added two touchdowns on the ground.
Mississippi St. opened the scoring with a first-quarter field goal, but that was it for the Bulldogs.
