This week’s AutoZone “In the Zone” College Basketball Player of the Week is San Diego State guard Xavier Thames.
WestwoodOne NCAA Basketball host Jason Horowitz filed this report:
“San Diego State has become a staple in the NCAA Tournament, making each of the last four, but many pundits weren’t sure what to make of this year’s Aztec squad. That changed with Xavier Thames’ performance leading to the Aztecs win at the Wooden Legacy tournament in Anaheim. The senior point guard scored 26 in their upset of then 20th-ranked Crieghton, then topped that with 29 in the championship game victory over #25 Marquette. Thames shot 9 of 11 from three-point range in those two games to lead the Aztecs to a pair of resume-building wins that they may need come Selection Sunday.”
Xavier Thames was definitely “In the Zone” and he’s our AutoZone College Basketball Player of the Week.
