This week’s AutoZone “In the Zone” College Basketball Player of the Week is Kansas guard Naadir Tharpe.
WestwoodOne NCAA Basketball host Jason Horowitz filed this report:
“He may not get the most notoriety on the roster, and he certainly hasn’t been the most hyped, but Naadir Tharpe last week proved to be the most important player for #8 Kansas. Tharpe scored 23 in the Jayhawks’ win at Iowa State then poured in 21 in their home victory over Oklahoma State. KU managed back-to-back wins against top-10 teams for the first time in 21 years, and Tharpe shot 14 of 17 in the two games. He was enormous for Kansas in the win against the Cowboys, particularly with Andrew Wiggins scoring just three points. The Jayhawks began Big 12 play 5-0, with all five wins coming against teams currently ranked in the top 25. If they keep that up, a 10th straight regular season conference title is just the first piece of hardware Kansas will collect this season.”
Naadir Tharpe was definitely “In the Zone” and he’s our AutoZone College Basketball Player of the Week.
