NEW YORK, NY – Josh Hart came off the bench to score 18 points to lead top-seeded Villanova to a hard-fought 63-61 win over Providence in a Big East semifinal on Friday night at Madison Square Garden.
Ryan Arcidiacono hit a pair of free throws with 3.1 seconds left after a debatable foul call sent him to the line. LaDontae Henton had a chance to put Providence back ahead as time expired, but his three-point attempt missed and the Wildcats secured the win.
Providence’s Kris Dunn led all scorers with 22 points and added seven rebounds and nine assists.
