America East Championship Highlights: Stony Brook holds off Vermont 80-74

03/12/2016

STONY BROOK, NY – For the first time since joining Division 1 in 1999, Stony Brook University is headed to the NCAA tournament.

Three-time America East Conference Player of the Year, Jameel Warney, carried the Seawolves with 43 points (on 18-of-22 shooting) to mount a late second-half comeback over the third-seeded Catamounts.

The senior’s heroics helped end a 2016 trend of top seeds falling short in their respective conference tournaments.

Scott Graham and Mo Cassara called the action on Westwood One Sports.
