In a season in which there looked to be little drama headed into the final day, Arsenal and Tottenham combined to add a bit of excitement.
The Gunners’ 4-0 win over already relegated Aston Villa when combined with Spurs’ capitulation by a tally of 5-1 against ten-man Newcastle allowed Arsenal to finish above their North London rivals for the 21st consecutive season.
Still, second-place Arsenal ended up 10 points adrift of league champions Leicester City.
Tottenham finished third, Manchester City is likely to end up fourth and in the Champions League barring an unprecedented result for Manchester United on Tuesday when they face Bournemouth in a match that was called off after a bomb scare at Old Trafford. United would need to win by 19 goals to leapfrog their city rivals.
Tom Rennie hosts a look back at all the best action from the final day of the 2015-16 season.
