BOSTON, MA – For the first time in five years, Ohio State is headed to the Final Four. The Buckeyes won the East Regional with a hard-fought 77-70 win over top-seeded Syracuse on Saturday night.
Jared Sullinger scored 19 points to lead a balanced Ohio State attack. Deshaun Thomas and William Bufford each played all forty minutes for the Buckeyes, combining to score 27 points and pull down 18 rebounds.
Brandon Triche led Syracuse with 15 points.
The Buckeyes will play the winner of Sunday’s Kansas-North Carolina game next Saturday in New Orleans.
